Meet the talented individuals behind our success.
He graduated as a jazz percussionist from the Music Conservatory of Budapest in 1981 (today: Franz Liszt Academy of Music), where he was a student of classical music as well. After graduating, he became the drummer of one of the most successful Hungarian rock bands – Korál. Later on he became the drummer and writer for the progressive rock bands East and iLand. He founded his own recording studio in 1985, starting his career as a sound engineer and music.
He founded his own independent record label, Tom-Tom Records in 1996.
His professional and artistic career has been rewarded with a score of awards by the industry. For his career as a musician he was awarded the Knight of Cross from the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic.
I literally have grown up in the studio world, making my first experiments with an Atari computer already – since then I’ve become proficient in Pro Tools and Logic as well as the art and craft of recording sound. I am a touring musician since my college years and have been playing in numerous bands and have toured Europe and the USA – I play the piano, drums and guitar. Since recording my first client in 2007, I’ve honed my skills across a wide range of sessions—from commercial VO and movie ADR/post-production to recording, mixing, and mastering rock, pop, jazz bands, big bands, chamber ensembles, and full symphony orchestras.
I also have experience in producing radio talk shows and TV and live show mixing. I have written and produced music since I was in high school – and recently started producing other artists’ work as well.
I started at Tom-Tom Studio in 2000 and ever since I have worked on a lot of high profile productions, Hungarian and international ones as well.
I have a wide range of expertise, ranging from classical academic music and orchestral film scoring to rock and pop genres – be it a studio recording session or a live mixing job, I am an experienced, versatile and reliable sound engineer.
I was the leading sound engineer on all the seasons of the TV talent show “Megasztár”
I was awarded the prestigious Artisjus prize in 2010 for my outstanding role in contemporary Hungarian music.

I have been working at Tom-Tom Studio since 2018. I started with film sound post-production but soon enough as a musician-engineer I have built up my clientele of bands and singers.
At any recording session, I am very involved and if need be, I am open to providing creative input to the production. I do not like to call myself a music producer, but without doubt I keep getting more and more jobs that require just that – being a producer. I am passionate about finding new ways of recreating the essence of live music on recordings.
I am a musician whose passion is recorded sound – as an art form as well as a technological and engineering challenge. I work as a musician and I hold courses in engineering – also I am doing live sound on bigger shows.
I am part of Tom-Tom’s team since 1993 and I have engineered more than 150 productions.
As a sound engineer I was awarded the Artisjus prize and the grand prize of the Hungarian Recording Association, the Golden Giraffe.
What I love to do in life is music – it has always been. I play guitar, percussion and sing – I do all these in the rock group Verkli.
In my free time I am a member of the A-team of Tom-Tom studio ever since 1985.
I started at Tom-Tom Studio in 2015 where I could perfect my skills of making a professional sound recording. I have started with recording solo instruments but I quickly moved on to movie ADR, recording bands and live shows.
In the past few years my main area of expertise became recording orchestral music and film scoring – this is where I strive to do my best.
I am part of the team since 2017 – I have been a sound technician before and here I could take on more challenges of the sound engineering profession.
Recently I have specialized in orchestral recordings – classical and film scoring likewise.
Music has always been a defining part of my life. Thanks to my father, I received musical training and played in several bands as a drummer. In addition to music, my other interest was electroacoustics. The two interests met harmoniously when I became a sound engineer. I set up a Meyer Sound rental company, in 2004, providing high-quality service at large festivals, tours and television productions. In 2008 I set up a firm in the US, which provided full-service stage technology services at a theater in Orlando. From 2015, I became the Head of sound of the Budapest Operetta Theater. We launched Lajtha Studio Kft. in 2025.
Our studio takes its name from László Lajtha, one of Hungary’s most remarkable 20th-century composers. Alongside Bartók Béla and Kodály Zoltán, Lajtha was a leading figure in folk music research, composition, and music education. However, his legacy extends far beyond this—he was also a pianist, conductor, and one of the first acclaimed film composer, recognized for his contributions to cinema through innovative and emotionally powerful scores. His family roots trace back to the very building that now houses our studio, which was once his father’s leather factory. Today, we carry forward his pioneering spirit, ensuring that every note recorded in Lajtha Studio meets the highest artistic and technical standards.
